I remember saying farewell to my grandma and excited about finally migrating to Miami to reunite with parents and siblings. This happened after having been separated from my parents and sibling for over three years. I was seven-years-old, and eager to embrace my new life in the United States.

In addition to reconnecting with my parents and siblings, I was faced with the task of swiftly immersing myself in a foreign language and culture. It was during this time that I discovered my unwavering strength to overcome so many changes in such little time. I found satisfaction in the unknown. I learn to harness the power of innovative thinking and outside-the-box solutions.

After living in Miami for several years, my parents made the decision to return to Colombia. With my father’s entrepreneurial spirit leading the way, we swiftly set out to establish a business. I vividly recall eagerly rushing home from school to change out of my uniform and assist my father in running our electronics store. The dynamic atmosphere and lively energy of the store made me feel like it was an integral part of me. Recognizing my deep passion and enthusiasm, my father graciously allocated a small corner of the space for me to run a micro-business, where I sold candies and trinkets from abroad. This experience brought me immense joy, a sense of accomplishment, and also fed my adventurous spirit!

Upon reaching the milestone of turning 18, I made my way back to the USA and found shelter with my older siblings who had settled in Southern California. Eager to enhance my English proficiency, I promptly enrolled in college. It was during this period that the era of home computers emerged, and desiring to stay ahead of the game, I acquired a Tandy computer from Radio Shack. Driven by the desire to comprehend the growing significance of technology and its impact on the world, I delved into the world of computers. A couple of years down the line, fate intervened at a family gathering, as I crossed paths with my first husband – a skilled watch repair jeweler from Colombia.

We became successful jewelry business owners, wholesalers, and gemstone dealers in the Los Angeles Jewelry District. I quickly used what I had learned at my parent’s jewelry store. I learned about jewelry manufacturing, wholesaling, gemology, and gemstone import/export. Through correspondence education, I also became a (GIA) Certified Gemologist with the Gemological Institute of America.

At times, new beginnings may seem impossible to digest. However, the experience of a divorce and dismantling what was once built, despite its challenges, also sparked transformative new opportunities. I decided to embark on a fresh chapter by enrolling in college to pursue a degree in business administration and marketing. Furthermore, I obtained a real estate license and delved into the world of real estate, concurrently focusing on personal growth and equipping myself with empowering tools.

I decided to become a real estate agent because I find immense joy in guiding individuals through the purchasing process and guaranteeing that each decision they make brings them closer to future benefits. Moreover, this profession grants me the opportunity to combine my passion for personal growth, education, socializing, and assisting others in achieving their aspirations, all while embracing the spirit of entrepreneurship.

I’m delighted to share that I’ve discovered my new life partner. It’s a true blessing to have found someone who values and embraces our uniqueness while encouraging our quirks. With their support, I’ve been able to successfully continue my work as a Realtor.

Real estate investing became a key aspect of my strategy, thanks to the valuable connections I made at seminars, workshops, mentorship programs, and investment clubs. Through extensive reading and successfully overcoming numerous investment challenges, I have celebrated many wins along the way.

I had a strong desire to understand credit management, insurance, asset protection, and other vital areas of personal finance. So, I would be able to offer that extra value to real estate buyers, sellers, and investors alike.

As life became more manageable, I felt compelled to give back and became proactive in my community, starting as a volunteer and later assuming a leadership role. While I aspire to improve the world, I understand that even small contributions can make a significant impact. This is why being prepared and certified as a disaster relief person can be life-saving for a loved one or neighbor in need. Taking action in our own communities is a crucial step toward creating a better world for tomorrow.

• Being fluent in English and Spanish makes me bilingual and enables me to assist a broader range of people.

• Participating in community service has had a profound impact on my empathy and mindfulness.

• I possess expertise in assessing creditworthiness and safeguarding financial assets, which has endowed me with extensive knowledge of financial affairs.

Participating in the inauguration ceremony of the West Anaheim Community Garden was an absolutely amazing experience. I had the privilege of being in the presence of esteemed individuals like Mayor Tom Tait, Councilwomen Gail Eastman and Tracy Patterson. Moreover, I was surrounded by an incredible assembly of community leaders, partners, and friends.

During this momentous occasion, I was publicly acknowledged for my unwavering support to our beloved community.

I have held the position of vice-chair for the West Anaheim Neighborhood Council for two consecutive years.

I am incredibly grateful for having had the opportunity to meet and work alongside some truly exceptional individuals. The friendships and connections that I have made during this time are something I will always hold dear to my heart. I feel privileged to have crossed paths with such wonderful people and I will always cherish the memories and experiences we shared together.
